Disclosed is an anti-CGRP antagonist antibody, as defined in the specification, with a binding affinity (KD) to human alpha-CGRP of 50nM or less as measured by surface plasmon resonance at 37 degrees Celsius. The disclosed antibody is used in the treatment of migraine with or without aura, hemiplegic migraine, cluster headache, migrainous neuralgia, chronic headache, or tension headache.
