<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which does not require setting of reading target documents only and rapidly reads the reading target documents. <P>SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus which sequentially transports piled documents mounted on a platen comprises: a number acquisition section for acquiring the number of a bundle of documents, an input process section for accepting an operation input for designating a part of the bundle of documents as a reading target, a determination section for determining, on the basis of the number of the documents and the order of the designated reading target, that front or back of the orientation of documents when the bundle of documents are mounted on the platen, an operation guide section for outputting message to mount the bundle of documents in the orientation determined by the determination section, and a control section for executing control processing for reading an image on the document designated as the reading target in response to a operated instruction for start after the output of the message. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
