<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information reader with a construction that has a good water-proof property and is capable of effectively reducing the number of components. <P>SOLUTION: A portable information reader 1 has a case 50 of which an external wall part 53 is provided with an insertion hole 54 formed in it where a charging terminal 70 is inserted. The charging terminal 70 is provided with: an exposure part 71 that is constructed in a plate-like shape and disposed in such a manner that at least a part of it is exposed to the outside of the case 50; extension parts 73, 74 that are connected to the exposure part 71 and are disposed so as to extend into the case 50. The exposure part 71 is supported by the external wall part 53 of the case 50, and is disposed in such a manner that its plate surface is disposed along the wall surface of the external wall part 53. The extension parts 73, 74 are bent against the exposure part 71, and are extending into the case 50 through the insertion hole 54.
