<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable search device which easily finds a required cable out of many existing cables. <P>SOLUTION: The cable search device includes: an identification signal generator including a transmitter for generating an identification signal, a switch for intermitting the signal of the transmitter, a clock transmitter for operating the switch, a power amplifier for causing the intermissive signal to flow to an electric wire or a cable as a search object, and a cable for connecting the signal from the power amplifier to the electric wire or the cable as the search object; a clamp for detecting a signal flowing on the electric wire or the cable as the search object; and a slave unit for, by a filter circuit which oscillates output synchronously with a frequency of an identification signal inputted from the clamp, attenuates signals having frequencies other than the frequency of the identification signal.
