The catalytic reactor involving a gas stream with a catalytic structure, comprises a first module (1) of a honeycomb catalytic architecture having channels and oriented in such a manner such that the majority of the pores of the honeycomb catalytic architecture opens into axial direction of the reactor, and a second module (2) of a honeycomb catalytic architecture oriented in a manner such that the majority of the pores of the honeycomb catalytic architecture seals in the radial direction of the reactor. The first and second modules are juxtaposed within the reactor. The first module and second module are combined into a single module to provide a first gas flow path in an axial direction of the reactor and a second path in the radial direction of the reactor. The channels are circular, square or hexagonal, or have the shape of slots or grooves. The cellular architectures are either catalytic ceramic foam or metal foam surface coated with a catalyst layer. |
