DIAGNOSTIC BIOMARKER FOR DIABETIC NEPHROPATHY AND IDENTIFICATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A marker for diabetic nephropathy, isolated from plasma glycoprotein is provided to evaluate the prognosis of diabetic nephropathy. CONSTITUTION: A composition for diagnosing diabetic nephropathy contains an antibody which specifically binds to lumican or lumican precursor. A composition for diagnosing diabetic nephropathy contains a primer or probe which is specific to a nucleic acid encoding lumican or lumican precursor. A kit and a microarray for diagnosing diabetic nephropathy contain the antibody. A method for isolating the marker comprises: a step of isolating glycoprotein from plasma by multipl-lectin affinity column; a step of treating with trypsin to prepare peptides; a step of performing liquid chromatography of the peptides and performing LC- MS/MS of ion trap type; and a step of searching in IPI human protein database to identify glycoprotein in the plasma from a patient with diabetic nephropathy.
