DISTANCE-ADJUSTABLE INTRAOCULAR LENS SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance-adjustable intraocular lens for implanting in an eye with an optical axis.

SOLUTION: The intraocular lens by this invention has an anterior portion with an anterior viewing element and an anterior biasing element. The intraocular lens by this invention further includes a posterior portion with a posterior viewing element and a posterior biasing element disposed separate from the anterior viewing element. The anterior portion and the posterior portion are connected at a first apex and a second apex of the intraocular lens. The anterior portion, the posterior portion, and the apices are responsive to force applied thereon to cause the separation between the viewing elements to change. Additional embodiments and methods are also disclosed.
