<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, a display device, and an image processing method which are capable of providing a more accurate and clear image by avoiding image deterioration due to sharpening. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus of this embodiment comprises sharpening means, noise amount detection means, and sharpening control means. The sharpening means sharpens an input image. The noise amount detection means detects the noise amount of noise included in the input image.
