<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a password input device capable of inputting a high-security password with simple operation. <P>SOLUTION: A password input screen 100 is capable of displaying multiple password setting images 113 for which an on-screen position and color are designated, in accordance with operation input for operation input means of a remote controller etc., and determines an input password in accordance with the on-screen position and color of the password setting image 113. For example, 16 (4×4) input areas 111 are set in advance, and existence of the password setting image is determined for each of the input areas.
