<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable improvement in the working efficiency when a cashier registers a commodity purchased by a customer. <P>SOLUTION: A commodity code reader comprises image capturing means, code reading means and output means. The image capturing means captures an image imaged by imaging means (S2). The code reading means, for each commodity included in the captured image, detects a code symbol attached to the commodity and reads code information corresponding to the code symbol (S3-S5).
