<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that controllability may drop due to switching of the switching state in model prediction control. <P>SOLUTION: Based on a voltage vector set by an operational state setting unit 31 and a current detected by a current sensor 16, a prediction unit 33 calculates prediction currents ide, iqe. Meanwhile, an evaluation unit 34 selects a voltage vector Vi to be evaluated as the highest by using an evaluation function J, in which the larger the divergence between command currents idr, iqr and the prediction currents ide, iqe is, the lower the evaluation is, and outputs the voltage vector Vi to an operating unit 26. The operating unit 26 operates an inverter IV so that the selected voltage vector Vi is attained.
