PURPOSE: An image matching method is provided to match images without selecting a specific shape, thereby automatically matching the images. CONSTITUTION: A reference area is set on a reference image. A matching area corresponding to the reference area is set on a target image(S110). Edges which correspond each other are extracted from the reference area and the matching area(S120). A displacement difference of each edge is obtained. The average of displacement about the edges is calculated(S130). The target image is matched with the reference image as the target image moves as much as an average displacement of the edges(S140).
