PURPOSE: A fringe field switching liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to enhance charging features of a pixel. CONSTITUTION: A gate electrode(121) and a gate line are formed in a pixel part of a first substrate. A gate insulating film(115a) is formed on the first substrate. An active layer(124) is formed on the gate electrode. A pixel electrode(118) is formed on a pixel area of the first substrate. A source electrode(122) and a drain electrode(123) are formed on the active layer. A data line(117) crosses the gate line to define the pixel area.
