PURPOSE: A separator and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form stable air channels by arranging a foamable metal in which cobalt is coated or conductive ceramic is impregnated is arranged between the flat plate type metal substrate and an air anode. CONSTITUTION: A separator(30) comprises a metal substrate(31) which has one or more flat surfaces and foamable metals(32) which are formed on the flat surfaces of the metal substrate, and are arranged in order to have channel patterns(33). The channel patterns of the foamable metals are repeats by turns. The separator additionally includes coating layers(51) which are formed on the surface of the foamable metal. Conductive ceramics are impregnated in the foamable metal. A manufacturing method of the separator comprises the step of arranging the foamable metals on the flat surface of the metal substrate in order to have the channel patterns.
