摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device capable of improving utilization efficiency of light incident on a display part from a light guide part. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes: a reflecting polarization plate 12 transmitting P polarized light contained in light source light 21, and at the same time, reflecting S polarized light contained in the light source light 21; a conversion part 60 converting the S polarized light reflected at the reflecting polarization plate 12 into the P polarized light to be incident on the reflecting polarization plate 12; and a prism sheet 11 with a plurality of prisms 11c fitted on a face at a reflecting polarization plate 12 side. Each prism 11c comprises: a prism tip part 11d convex in a direction headed from the prism sheet 11 toward the reflecting polarization plate 12; prism slant faces 11a formed at either side of the tip part for taking in P polarized light emitted from the reflecting polarization plate 12; and a prism bottom face 11b for emitting the P polarized light taken from the slant faces into the prism 11c, in a direction vertical to an extension direction of the prism sheet 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
