<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device using a fixing roller which is composed of a thin cylindrical elastic core metal, enabling stable image fixation while preventing the device from being enlarged. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a fixing roller formed by laminating an elastic material layer on an outer surface of a thin cylindrical elastic core metal; a pressure member in press-contact with the fixing roller to form a nip part; and a fixing member holding the fixing roller in a contact manner. The fixing member is disposed at least, based on a rotation axis of the fixing roller, in a first position which is parallel with a direction of discharging a recording medium from the nip part and comes into contact with the vicinity of the surface part of the fixing roller, a second position which is symmetric with respect to the rotation axis of the fixing roller from the first position and comes into contact with the vicinity of the surface part of the fixing roller, and a third position which is opposite to the nip part across the rotation axis of the fixing roller and comes into contact with the surface part of the fixing roller between the first position and second position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
