PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long pattern alignment film capable of easily manufacturing a large number of pattern phase difference films.

SOLUTION: A long pattern alignment film includes a long alignment layer containing an optical alignment material, and the alignment layer includes a first alignment region for aligning a rod-shaped compound having refractive index anisotropy in a given direction and a second alignment region for aligning the rod-shaped compound in a direction different from that of the first alignment region.
