<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To electrically detect any abnormality in zooming motor operation and protect the zooming mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A current detecting circuit section 36 and a position detecting circuit 48 are provided not to obstruct current feedback operation of real-time positive feedback operation; when any abnormal operation is detected from values given by the current detecting circuit section 36 and/or the position detecting circuit 48, a relay switch 30 (switching unit 30S) of a switching circuit section 28 is turned off, and returned on (short-circuited) after a certain period of time.
