<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a conventionally known compound does not necessarily have sufficient solubility in an organic solvent. <P>SOLUTION: A compound expressed by formula (I) is provided; and a dye containing the compound as an active component, and a coloring composition containing the dye are also provided.
