A liquid crystal display is provided to realize color display while preventing loss of power consumption and improve the power use efficiency by applying a color converting fluorescent substance instead of a color filter, and simplify a driving circuit by applying blue LEDs(Light Emitting Diodes) as a backlight. A liquid crystal display performs color display. A backlight(20) is formed of blue LEDs. A transparent layer transmits the light from the blue LEDs. A fluorescent layer(10) converts a color of the light from the blue LEDs. The fluorescent layer is formed at upper glass substrate opposite to the blue LEDs. |
