PURPOSE: A tree-dimensional image display device and an operating method are provided to simultaneously implement a two-dimensional image and a three-dimensional image on one screen by including a switchable optical board. CONSTITUTION: A switchable optical board(40) individually controls each block. A switchable optical board operating unit(140) differently offer operating power in a combination mode based on the switchable optical board control unit. An image processing unit(170) outputs image data in a two-dimensional mode, converts the image data according to a view control signal, and simultaneously implements a three-dimensional image and a two-dimensional image by confirming the size and location of the three-dimensional image and the two-dimensional image in the combination mode.
