PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment material is provided to provide a liquid crystal alignment film with favorable exfoliating property from a circuit board while a liquid crystal alignment material displays a favorable electrical property. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment material contains a certain group containing polyorganosiloxan which has at least one selected from carboxylic group, hydroxyalkyl group,- NHR^1 and mercapto group. R^1 is hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl group in this. A certain group containing polyorganosiloxane (S1) contains the certain group In the amount ranged from 7X10^(-6) to 4X10^(-4)[mol/g]per the solid weight of polyorganosiloxane.
