PURPOSE: A manufactruing method of non-ionic soluble cellurose ether is provided to produce a non ionic soluble cellurose ether with small amount of not dissolved fiber by supplying a transparent solution. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of non-ionic soluble cellulose ether comprises a drying step that dries a pulp after making a sheet-like pulp in a sheet phase or in a chip phase; a contact step that obtains alkali cellulose contacting the pulp with an alkali metal hydroxide solution; a liquid removal step that liquid-removes the alkali cellulose; and a reaction step that makes the liquid removed alkali cellulose and an etherifying agent to react. The non-ionic aqueous cellulose ether is alkyl cellulose, hydroxyalkyl cellulose or hydroxylalkylalkyl cellulose.
