<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide band patch antenna which is thin and small with a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: In a patch antenna, a main radiation element 110 is placed in a common geometric plane, or substantially the same plane, with a reference ground element 120, or the main radiation element and the reference ground element are placed in two parallel planes which are closely spaced each other and are separated by a dielectric property laminate 100, and there is little or no overlap between the main radiation element and the reference ground element.
