PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of regenerating a flue gas denitration catalyst used in a combustion gas of high ash contents, e.g. coal or heavy oil, which regenerates a spent flue gas denitration catalyst so that the mass of deposit of the denitration catalyst coating layer is homogenized without cleaning of the spent catalyst.SOLUTION: A method includes arranging a denitration catalyst in an exhaust gas passage and using it, taking the denitration catalyst out of the exhaust gas passage and irradiating, with IR rays, the part of the denitration catalyst having been located on the inlet side of the exhaust gas passage, making a slurry containing a titanium-oxide-containing powder of a denitration catalyst and a colloidal material of an inorganic oxide to be supported on the denitration catalyst and drying the resultant product. The use of IR rays allows adjustment of the heating range for the denitration catalyst by adjusting the incidence angle of the IR rays and exclusively drying parts allowing easy deposition, thus enabling enhancement of the amount of catalyst supported on such parts. The method also allows homogeneous deposition of the catalyst layer on the catalyst substrate, leading to improvement of the denitration performance as the whole of the catalyst layer. |
