Photo-engraver esp. for PCB - uses magnetic rimmed film to hold plate to be engraved and master on slidable drawer

The photo engraving equipment carries its plate and design master in a flat bed drawer. The drawer allows full sight of the positioning of the two sheets and hence exact relative positioning. The two sheets are brought into close contact by creating a partial vacuum between them the achievement of a vacuum being assisted by a flexible film with a magnetic surround. The rectangular drawer slides on runners into the engraver once set up and has a lower crystal glass plate. This directly carries the plate (19) to be engraved and the master (20) above it. The two are held by a flexible and elastic transparent film (22) held in a magnetic rubber frame (23). Air is drawn out by a tube (25) opening close to the plate edge.
