PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate image data which enables a user to obtain a retrieval result including a word similar to a keyword when performing retrieval by inputting the keyword, without being affected by an environment for performing text retrieval.SOLUTION: An image processing device 1 comprises: an image input unit 31 which inputs image data; a word extraction unit 32 which extracts a word from a text included in the image data; a synonym acquisition unit 33 which acquires a synonym corresponding to the word and associates the synonym with the word; a word position specification unit 34 which specifies a display position of the word to which the synonym is associated in the image data; a layer generation unit 35 which generates an additional layer to be overlapped with an original layer of the image data and embeds the synonym associated with the word to the additional layer; and an output image generation unit 36 which generates output image data including the original layer and the additional layer.
