PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device and a radio communication method for a new digital cordless telephone set that can avoid adverse radio wave interference to a control channel important to PHS operation and enhance frequency utilization efficiency with respect to a speech channel.SOLUTION: A frequency band allocated to a digital cordless telephone set and a frequency band allocated to PHS are received, reception electric field intensity of the received signal is measured and output, the output of the reception electric field intensities of signals which are continuously received for a fixed time are monitored, and the time width and frequency at which the reception electric field intensities not less than a predetermined threshold value appear are measured, thereby determining whether there is any interference of a signal emitted from a fixed station of PHS. When it is determined that there is some interference, a frequency band and a slot timing to be used so as to avoid the interference are set, and communication data are transmitted by using the frequency band and the slot timing. |
