PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure an extremely minute amount of estrogen existing in a sample with high sensitivity.SOLUTION: Estrogen in a sample is measured with LC-MS after pentafluoropyridine is introduced in a phenolic hydroxyl group of the estrogen, 1-lower alkylhidrazinopyridinium salt is made to react to a carbonyl group contained in the reactant, and/or pyridinecarboxylic acid is made to react to an alcoholic hydroxyl group contained in the reactant.
