PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for determining a magnitude of knocking intensity on a peripheral edge of a combustion chamber when knocking of the internal combustion engine occurs. SOLUTION: The system includes: a flame detection device which chronology detects a region where a flame has occurred on the peripheral edge of the combustion chamber; and a detection device which specifies the region where the flame has occurred within a certain period of time after or before a timing when the occurrence of knocking has been detected by a knocking detection device, and determines the knocking intensity by using the space of the specified region as a parameter.
