The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for providing screen information data representing a screen displayed by a cloud server on a client device. The method of providing screen information data representing a screen displayed by a cloud server on a client device includes the steps of: generating screen information data; determining whether to protect the screen information data on the basis of characteristics of objects forming the screen; encrypting the screen information data on the basis of the determined result; and transmitting the encrypted screen information data.
