PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring locked armrest having a coil spring wound around a shaft which requires a comparatively low withstand load, and is considerable simplified in structure by eliminating a locking mechanism or an unlocking mechanism. SOLUTION: The coil spring is wound around a fixed shaft projected from a seat back, and an arm is provided with a load receiving piece working on one end of the coil spring to rotate the coil spring in the tightening direction, and a return piece similarly rotating the coil spring in the loosening direction.
