PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology advantageous in a detection device in which a conversion layer is disposed over a pixel array.SOLUTION: The detection device includes: a conversion layer that converts incident light or radiation into electric charges; and a plurality of first electrodes that collects the electric charges converted at the conversion layer. The conversion layer is disposed over the plurality of first electrodes at a position to cover the plurality of first electrodes. A portion of the conversion layer that covers a space between two adjacent first electrodes includes a portion whose thickness is thinner than a portion of the conversion layer that covers an edge of the first electrode.
