<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve uneven gloss in a sheet.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit 1 for forming a toner image on a sheet 41; a fixing device 30 having a heating roller 31 and a pressurizing roller 32 in contact with each other, for nipping the sheet 41 by the heating roller 31 and the pressurizing roller 32 to heat and pressurize the sheet and to fix the toner image on the sheet 41; press-contact force changing means for changing a press-contact force between the heating roller 31 and the pressurizing roller 32; and sensors 33-2, 33-3 for detecting whether or not the sheet 41 is passing between the heating roller 31 and the pressurizing roller 32, and outputs a medium detection result that indicates a passing or non-passing status of the medium. The press-contact force changing means changes the press-contact force between the heating roller 31 and the pressurizing roller 32 while the sheet 41 is passing in the fixing device 30 on the basis of the medium detection result.</p> |
