PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma light-emitting device which is increased in the light emission efficiency.SOLUTION: A plasma light-emitting device 1 according to an embodiment hereof comprises: an electromagnetic wave generator 2; a wave guide 4 for transmitting electromagnetic waves radiated by the electromagnetic wave generator 2; an antenna 5 for receiving the electromagnetic waves transmitted through the wave guide 4; an electromagnetic wave-focusing device 6 to which electromagnetic waves radiated from the antenna 5 are applied; and an electrodeless bulb 7 disposed in the electromagnetic wave-focusing device 6. The electrodeless bulb 7 is filled with a luminescent material. The luminescent material is excited by the electromagnetic waves focused by the electromagnetic wave-focusing device 6, whereby plasma light emission is caused. The electromagnetic wave generator 2 has a cathode part and an anode part; the output efficiency of electromagnetic waves generated in an entire input power range of 100-500 W is 72% or larger.
