PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel drive circuit for a switching element, capable of detecting an excess current flowing in the switching element.SOLUTION: When an AND operation of a condition that a gate voltage Vge continuously exceeds a determination voltage Vjde for a determination period Tjde and a condition that a sense voltage Vse exceeds a short-circuit threshold SC, is true in an excess current detection period from first timing to second timing, it is determined that an excess current is flowing in a switching element. The determination voltage Vjde is higher than a mirror voltage and set to a voltage equal to or less than an upper limit voltage of the gate voltage Vge. The first timing is set to start timing of charging processing. The second timing is set to timing when the mirror of the switching element ends on the assumption that the excess current does not flow. |
