<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing, at a high recovery rate, a purified polyglyceryl monoether which contains a high concentration of a polyglyceryl monoether having a narrow distribution of polymerization degrees of polyglyceryl groups, from a polyglyceryl monoether having a wide distribution of polymerization degrees.SOLUTION: A method of producing a purified polyglyceryl monoether includes: an adsorption step of causing silica gel to adsorb a raw material polyglyceryl monoether represented by the general formula (1); and an elution step of bringing the silica gel into contact with an organic solvent whose SP value is within the range of 9.2 to 12 [(cal/cm)] thereby causing elution of a polyglyceryl monoether from the silica gel: RO-(CHO)-H (1) (In the formula (1), R represents a C6-22 hydrocarbon group, and n is the polymerization degree of glycerin and represents a number between 1 and 9.)</p> |
