<p>Disclosed are a smart cruise control system and a control method thereof. The control method of the smart cruise control system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: determining whether a driver has a lane change intent during a smart cruise control (SCC) or not; determining whether a target vehicle is away from a target vehicle tracking area or not if the driver has no line change intent; determining a yaw rate for circling a self-vehicle by using the lateral distance of the target vehicle and the lateral distance of the target vehicle tracking area if the target vehicle is away from the target vehicle tracking area; and controlling the brake pressure of a wheel depending on the target yaw rate which is determined to circle the self-vehicle in the direction of a target yaw rate generation according to the determined target yaw rate.</p> |
