摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for production of a quickly chilled ribbon for rare earth magnets, which are based on supplying a molten material consisting of a rare earth magnet material to a rotary roll, chilling quickly and recovering a jetted quickly-chilled ribbon, capable of eliminating the possibility of clogging of a passage for the jetted quickly-chilled ribbon to flow through and allowing efficient recovery of only a quickly chilled ribbon having a good crystal composition.SOLUTION: A production apparatus 10 of a quickly chilled ribbon for rare earth magnets includes: a furnace 1 storing molten metal Y consisting of a rare earth magnet material; a rotary roll 2 for chilling quickly the molten metal supplied from the furnace 1; a passage 3 through which a quickly chilled ribbon formed by quick chilling of the molten metal Y in the rotary roll 2 and jetted passes; a collision part 4 which is located in the middle of the passage 3 and collided with the quickly chilled ribbon; and a recovery part 5 which recovers the quickly chilled ribbon Rc of a crystal composition colliding and falling in the collision part 4. The quickly chilled ribbon Ra of an amorphous composition is sucked by a magnetic suction implement 6 provided in the passage 3.
