The purpose of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and a method for compensating the residual frequency offset of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver to reduce the complexity of hardware for compensating residual frequency offset. The OFDM receiver compensates residual frequency offset by estimating the residual frequency offset from a signal equalized by an equalizer and multiplying the equalized signal by the reciprocal of the residual frequency offset.
