<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide article handling equipment appropriately carrying articles without any interruption and further lowering an installation cost of the equipment by reducing the number of unmanned carriers to be equipped. <P>SOLUTION: Delivery management means allocates to an unmanned carrier 10 delivery work between a warehouse-side article transfer part F that is located at an automatic warehouse side in a route for unmanned carriers and an external-side article transfer part G that is located in an external loading/unloading part side, for performing: an article carry-in process for carrying articles P located at an external carry-in/out part B to an article loading/unloading part 2 of an automatic warehouse A; and a carry-out process for carrying articles P located at the article loading/unloading part 2 of the automatic warehouse A to the external carry-in/out part B.
