<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately evaluate whether or not a decelerating operation is suitable for fuel saving driving. <P>SOLUTION: An average braking deceleration D is defined as D=[(Vo<SP POS="POST">2</SP>-V1<SP POS="POST">2</SP>)/2/Ld]-[g Hd/Ld], and this average braking deceleration D is decided based on kinetic energy of a vehicle decreased during a deceleration period, "an amount of change in kinetic energy" of the vehicle caused by running in a section where there is a difference in height during the deceleration period, and a distance the vehicle has actually run during the deceleration period. Even when the vehicle has run at a decelerated speed in a section where there is a difference in height, the decelerating operation can be evaluated by an evaluation indicator reflecting this, thereby achieving a more appropriate evaluation. Furthermore, since the amount of change in potential energy of the vehicle due to the difference in height is corrected according to the running condition, and the difference in height Hd that has a correlation with "the amount of change in kinetic energy" is calculated, an appropriate evaluation is possible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
