<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device of installing a boot for a constant velocity universal joint, capable of fixing a boot to a boot installing part, by stably diametrically contracting a boot band even by a beginner, without becoming skillful. <P>SOLUTION: A ring part 60 fitted around a band installing part of the boot 40 is formed by rounding a belt-like member 51 in a ring shape. A pair of projection parts 53 and 58 separated by a predetermined pitch along the peripheral direction, are formed in the ring part 60. The projection parts 53 and 58 are mutually approached along the peripheral direction, and the ring part 60 is diametrically contracted. While rocking claw members 71 and 72 in the mutually approaching direction with a pivot part 77 as the center in a state of sandwiching the projection parts 53 and 58 by tip locking parts 78 and 79 of the pair of claw members 71 and 72, the claw members 71 and 72 are displaced in the radial direction of a ring 60. Positions of the tip locking parts 78 and 79 of the claw members 71 and 72 are made to follow displacement in the radial direction and the peripheral direction of the projection parts 53 and 58 caused by diametrical contraction of the ring part 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
