PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge detection device for a vacuum switching device capable of determining reduction in vacuum degree of a vacuum valve and insulation deterioration in an insulation member and the like of the vacuum valve.SOLUTION: A vacuum valve 16 of a circuit breaker 1 is housed in a container 13. An electromagnetic wave by discharge generated at the vacuum valve 16 is detected by an antenna 2, and a peak value S3 is calculated by a demultiplexing unit 4 and a detection unit 5. A counting unit 6 counts the number Nn of the peak value S3 exceeding a predetermined threshold K during a predetermined time period &Dgr;t. This operation is repeated M times to obtain M exceeding number data Xn (n=1-M). A determination unit 7 calculates the number of data D having an exceeding number larger than a threshold C among the M exceeding number data X1-XM, and in a case where a ratio γ=D/M is larger than a predetermined value G, determines that a vacuum degree of the vacuum valve 16 is reduced, and in a case where the ratio γ is the predetermined value G or less, determines that insulation of the insulation member and the like is deteriorated. |
