PURPOSE:To provide the above method for fitting a handle of an air conditioner securely and inexpensively. CONSTITUTION:First of all, notches 14 communicating with the transversal openings of a cabinet for an outdoor unit are formed transversally on a left side plate 8 and a right side plate 9. Next, the upper rim of the notch 14 is bent inwardly with respect to the cabinet to extend obliquely upward and form an upper run-off preventing surface 14a on the lower surface thereof while the lower rim of notch 14 is bent toward the inside of the cabinet to extend it obliquely downward and form a lower run-off preventing surface 14b on the upper surface of the same. Then, a handle 13 is inserted into the notches 14 of the left side plate 8 and the right side plate 9 from the transversal opening side of the cabinet of the outdoor unit to make the handle 13 abut against the rim of the outside of the notch 14, the upper run-off preventing surface 14a and the lower run-off preventing surface 14b. Finally, the transversal openings of the cabinet of the outdoor unit are blockaded by the side plate 15 and the handle 13 is fixed to the cabinet of the outdoor unit to mount the handle 13 onto the outdoor unit of an air conditioner. |
