A bush 38 for a rotatable shaft, preferably of a washing apparatus, the bush 38 comprising a sleeve-like body 42, an inlet 50 and, preferably four, open channels 56 formed in the internal surface of the body. The open channels 56 are in liquid communication with the inlet 50, preferably via distribution channel 64, and have respective ends 58 that open onto an end 40 of the body 42. The open channels 56 extend helically around the internal surface. Purging liquid may be applied at the inlet to remove particulate material such as grit from the channels, and the helical channels may be matched to the rotation direction to produce a screwing action driving any particulate out of the channels. |
