Phenoxypropanolamines of formula (I), wherein R1 is a C3-7 alkyl group or a C3-7 cycloalkyl group, R2 is hydrogen or an electron accepting group, and Alk is a C2-3 alkylene group having beta 3-adrenergic receptor antagonist activity, salts thereof, a method for preparing same, pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds, and synthesis intermediates therefor, are disclosed.
