<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece detecting device capable of reversely driving a conveyance line, and capable of aiming at rapid restoration at the occurrence of conveyance failure. <P>SOLUTION: A workpiece detecting device 1 includes a detection lever 10, a rocking shaft 20, a balance member 50, and a detection switch 100. The detection lever 10 is rocked from a neutral position by abutting of a workpiece conveyed on the conveyance line. The rocking shaft 20 supports the detection lever so as to freely rock. The detection switch 100 is turned on by rocking of the detection lever 10.
