Device for optical simulation of a chimney fire

The simulation device has a projection device for formation of images of flames (F1-F3) or a portion of the flames and for projecting the images on projection surfaces (30-32). The projection device comprises image generation units (23-1-23-4) with projection masks for generation of the images of flames through exposure of light. A control unit comprising a memory device controls spatial and/or temporal behavior of the light and imaging behavior of individual projectors or individual light sources (21-1-21-3) i.e. LEDs, of the projectors. An independent claim is also included for a method for optical simulation of chimney fire.
