PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker capable of cooking rice while suppressing used power consumption as much as possible in response to a request for suppressing power consumption when a power suppression command is received from the outside, regardless of the timing at which the command is received.SOLUTION: A rice cooker includes a rice cooking container 2, a heating part 3 for heating the rice cooking container 2, a power supply part 4 for supplying power to the heating part 3, a control part 5 for controlling the power supply part 4 and performing a rice cooking process, and a communication part 9 for communicating with the outside and transmitting a communication content to the control part 5. Upon receipt of the power suppression command from the outside through the communication part 9, the control part 5 omits or shortens a rice cooking process other than a cooking finishing process or a warming process according to the power suppression command reception timing. |
